Keysight Technologies (NYSE: KEYS) and Turkey ASELSANElektronikSanayiveTicaret A.Ş. recently announced the signing of a "Memorandum of Understanding" (MOU). The two parties will establish a strategic partnership in the field of 5G communication technology research and development. The two parties will work together to jointly develop 5G support technologies—especially the integration and characterization functions of active antenna systems and RRHs, and prototype verification platforms, with a view to enhancing the innovative capabilities of future 5G wireless communications.

The collaboration between Keysight and ASELSAN began with the integration of ASELSAN millimeter-wave RRH technology and Keysight’s 5G waveform generation and analysis test bench reference solution, including MIMO real-time beamforming and beam control wireless characterization functions. The W1906BEL 5G band detection library can provide user-patented (IP) designs for reference signal processing that can be used immediately for 5G technology research. ASELSAN will provide the following products and solutions:

Over the past 77 years, Keysight has provided comprehensive solutions and measurement services for the following industries (including but not limited to) relying on its focus on technology and in-depth industry insights, helping practitioners to quickly bring products to the market, in terms of cost and quality Find the perfect balance between and win the trust of consumers:

•10 Ghz microwave transmitter and antenna

•10 GHz microwave receiver and antenna

• Control unit and local oscillator for massive MIMO beam control

• User equipment antenna

This collaboration will promote the launch of next-generation RRH high-speed broadband millimeter wave wireless communication experiments and new characterization technologies.

İsmet Atalar, Vice President of Technology and Strategic Management of ASELSAN, said: "We are very pleased that our engineers will be able to use the test bed jointly developed by both parties to perform real-time MIMO technology exploration and wireless characterization. This will help us accelerate the development of our work and accelerate the development of products. The design phase of prototypes and future 5G products is moving towards the testing phase and then the verification phase."

Dr. Kong Hongwei, Manager of Keysight's China Lab, said: "The development and verification of millimeter wave MIMO systems poses huge challenges. High-performance, customizable millimeter wave MIMO hardware platforms, easy-to-use design and simulation software solutions and ready-to-use solutions The 5G library is essential to solve these challenges faster and more efficiently. By cooperating with ASELSAN, Keysight’s solution can be integrated with the ASELSAN antenna array to complete an actual prototype system. An important step towards solving these challenges."

Benoit Neelg, Vice President and General Manager of Keysight’s EMEAI, said: “Keysight has actively participated in the development of the 5G standard and is committed to developing innovative solutions to accelerate the deployment of next-generation wireless communication technologies. Therefore, we are very proud to work with ASELSAN cooperates in the development of 5G wireless access technology. It not only represents a major advancement in the realization of 5G communication technology, but also paves the way for the research and development of future millimeter wave communication systems. This is also our cooperation with world-leading 5G organizations such as ASELSAN Another example."
