How to maintain electric vehicles: power battery VS charging

Many owners of electric vehicles have sent messages saying that the battery is not durable. Is it because of the high frequency of air conditioning? In fact, it is not the case. Over time, the degradation of ion batteries is a common problem for all portable electrical users. Temperature It is also one of the culprits that cause the battery to be undurable.

In recent years, pure electric vehicles have quietly entered everyone's lives and changed our way of life. Many small partners have also become keen to buy electric vehicles. However, electric vehicles are driven by motors. Compared with traditional vehicles, the main differences of electric vehicles are the drive motor, speed controller, on-board charger, and power battery. In addition, electric vehicles require ultra-fast charging stations to store electricity for power generation. Therefore, maintenance including vehicle accessories and starting methods is also very different from traditional cars.

Every time the battery is charged and discharged, the battery's ability to store electricity decreases a bit. These losses may be nothing to a laptop or a mobile phone, and it does not need to spend a lot of time and money to solve it. But what about electric vehicles? When the batteries on the electric vehicles lose storage capacity, the maintenance cost may not be as simple as replacing the batteries in laptops and mobile phones.

So, what should be paid attention to in the maintenance of electric vehicle batteries?

1. When should I charge the car?

When car owners use the car, they can pay attention to the electricity consumption of the car, and then estimate when they should charge the car and how often they should charge. The battery usage can be displayed on the voltmeter dial. When the pointer drops from "H" to near "L", it means that we need to charge the car.

And the longer you use an electric car, the owner can also control how many kilometers your car can run, but it should be noted that you should try not to use the position without electricity, because the car's power will obviously drop after the approximate number of kilometers. Reluctant driving will greatly reduce the battery life.

Generally speaking, electric vehicles have to be charged every day and let the battery circulate shallowly, which can extend its service life. Therefore, it is necessary to fully discharge and fully charge the battery on a regular basis, because it can make the battery more durable.

2. How long is the charging time? How should the charger be maintained?

In the process of charging, time control is very important. Some car owners do not care about the length of charging time, but over time, it will affect the service life of the battery. The appropriate charging time depends on the actual remaining power of your car.

If the pointer of the voltmeter dial is already at the "L" position, or the car owner himself has felt that the car's battery is about to run out, then there is no problem with slow charging for 8-10 hours. It is best to charge until the charger changes. If the car’s electricity is not used up, the charging time should not exceed 8 hours.

3. How should the battery be stored?

We should charge the battery once a month when it is stored, and stay away from the state of power loss. Of course, the battery should not be exposed to the sun, any battery is not allowed, otherwise the plate is aging and the battery is useless.

4. Do I need to unplug after charging?

Be sure to unplug after charging. Some car owners who are left behind can buy a charging timer to remind themselves when to unplug and stop charging. This can provide protection cheaply and safely. In addition, the battery of an electric car cannot be operated with electricity. When repairing the charging parts, you must first unplug the power plug.

5. Inspection and solution of battery failure

Usually, the damage of the battery will directly cause the car to fail to start normally. At this time, we can use the wire to connect another car with sufficient power in parallel to provide power for our car. Use a jumper wire to connect the positive poles of the two batteries, and use another jumper wire to connect the negative pole of the battery to the negative pole of the battery of the dead car. Then, the powered car will start first, and then start the car that is losing electricity after about a minute or two. Let the engines of the two cars idle for about 3 minutes, and then remove the wires.

The most important and most worthy of our attention in electric vehicles is the battery part, because the battery is the core of the entire vehicle. Regardless of the use, charging, and maintenance, you should pay more attention to the above-mentioned, and use electric vehicles correctly to be safe and environmentally friendly.
